A Ball of A Time for Kids in MST Golf Academy Junior Appreciation Day at Golf Arena

A real carnival atmosphere enveloped MST Golf Arena at The Gardens Mall in Mid Valley City yesterday, when around 60 junior golfers converged at the sprawling indoor golf centre for the MST Golf Academy Junior Appreciation Day.

The event was split into two 1½-hour sessions, 10am-11.30am and 12noon-1.30pm, to ensure social distancing although there was ample space in the 40,000-square foot facility.

MST Golf Arena is one of the largest indoor golf centres in the world, offering virtual golf and other forms of entertainment in 20 tech bays, with full F&B services in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Aged from five to 14, the kids had a blast as they indulged in fun, carnival-style games to warm up before taking part in a 14-hole virtual ‘pitch and putt’ team competition, using the centre’s state-of-the-art GC Hawk technology from Foresight Sports.

Each team was headed by a coach from the academy and brightly-coloured TaylorMade golf balls were given out to the top two teams from each session. There were also lucky draw prizes in the form of TaylorMade caps.

“The junior programme has always been considered as the backbone of MST Golf Academy as these young golfers represent the future of the game. As golf professionals, growing the game is the most important thing for us,” said MST Golf Academy’s director of instruction Travis Van Dijk.

“MST Golf strives to grow the game of golf, which is in line with all the PGA associations across the world. Juniors are the future of the game, so let’s give them the space and facilities to drive this vision forward,” he added.
